Energy Boot Camp and Mike Worden have changed my life. As a mom of three young boys, I was tired, out-of-shape and overweight. I made excuses daily why I couldn’t exercise or eat right.I didn’t have the time, it was too hard, or it was too expensive. I started boot camp with a three week session and immediately became addicted to it.
The changes in my body, my energy level and my stress level have been enormous. I now fit into the clothes I wore before I had kids and am stronger than I was in my 20s. Mike has motivated me to eat better and is incredibly knowledgeable about nutrition and exercise. I made changes to my diet that didn’t leave me feeling deprived and have now become a lifestyle for me.
Seeing my hard work pay off after just a few weeks motivated me to work harder outside of boot camp and I’ve become an avid runner and am entering my first race next month, both things I thought I could never do. When I tell others about Energy Boot Camp some of the excuses I hear are the same excuses I told myself.
The first is fear of being the most out of shape person in the class. I couldn’t do a single push up when I started, I huffed and puffed after 10 seconds and I was always the last to finish. The second excuse is that it will be too hard. It is hard, and sometimes it really sucks how hard it is, but it works. Nothing worth doing comes easily. The third is that it is too expensive. I spent hundreds of dollars a month on my kid’s extracurricular activities, but I wasn’t putting any of that towards my own health and well-being. I deserve and need to be strong and healthy so I can keep up with my three boys.
Are you really less important than your children? Besides that, the mental break I had each day coming to class, talking to the other amazing ladies and having fun while working out makes it the most worth it. I’ve made new friends in boot camp and we support each other and our fitness goals. I can’t even imagine how unhappy I’d be stuck in the same rut I was in before boot camp came into my life.
